**Product Overview**
The XT2052 is a charger circuit IC designed for constant current/constant voltage charging of a single rechargeable lithium battery. This device includes an internal power transistor, eliminating the need for an external current detection resistor and blocking diode. With minimal external components required, the XT2052 complies with USB bus technical specifications, making it ideal for portable applications.
The thermal regulation circuitry manages chip temperature within a safe range during high power dissipation or elevated ambient temperature. It provides a fixed constant charge voltage of 4.2V, and the charging current is set through an external resistor. When input power (AC adapter or USB power) is disconnected, the XT2052 automatically enters a low-power sleep mode, reducing battery current consumption to less than 0.1µA. It includes reverse discharge protection; if the battery voltage exceeds the input voltage, the internal power MOSFET shuts off automatically. Other features include input undervoltage lockout, automatic recharge, and charging/charge-completion status indicators.
The XT2052 is available in a thermally enhanced 8-pin ESOP8 package.
